In French slang, a marçel is a tank top. Named after a working man who wore it. Marcel Holubec W. gave it to a woman.
France is a culture and identity that you embrace and then carry with you, wherever you are. That’s where the marçel comes from.
In 2023, he transferred over twenty years of conceptual couture into mass production. The same obsession with proportion and quality, different conditions. Clean lines, noble materials, a neutral palette with precisely placed accents.
Beauty is an event. The marçel brings it into everyday circulation. You wear it on Monday and Friday, without occasion, without explanation. A shirt in which you take out the trash, and one in which you go on a date. Layering, combinations, play. Your own rules.

Marcel Holubec W. is a designer whose work is not born from a passing trend, but from a long search for proportion, clarity and precision. His signature is built on an architectural view of clothing, on work with silhouette, and on sensitivity to material. Every cut, every detail and every line has a reason. Nothing is superfluous.
After studying textile design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, he founded his own label in 2007 and began building an authorial world where couture thinking, craft and technology meet. His collections have long worked with a purist palette of black, white and neutrals, often complemented by a precisely placed colour accent. At the centre of his work stand the body, movement and silhouette — clothing as a shape that does not hide a person, but brings them out.
He works brilliantly with noble natural materials, yet reaches just as naturally for technologically demanding solutions. His work is often hidden in details that don't seem showy at first glance, but carry high added value: in construction, in processing, in the tension between the softness of the material and the precision of the cut.
This path gave rise to the brand marçel. Not as a simplification of design work, but as its new format.
